Getting started
Installing PULSE from the Shopify App Store is the sign-up — there is no separate account. A new store gets a 7-day trial with every feature unlocked, then stays on the Free plan (30 messages a month, order confirmations, WhatsApp orders & invoices, blocked contacts, 10 Fast Checkout orders) until you pick a paid plan. Nothing expires or locks you out.
Messages go out from PULSE’s verified WhatsApp number by default, so you do not need your own WhatsApp Business account. On the Scale plan you can connect your own number instead; your customers then see your brand as the sender and Meta bills you directly for that number.
Order confirmations
The moment an order is placed, PULSE sends the customer a WhatsApp message with the order summary and two buttons, Confirm Order and Cancel Order. The answer updates the order in PULSE and tags it in Shopify (by default Pulse Confirmed / Pulse Cancelled).
PULSE starts from Shopify’s “checkout completed” signal, so the message normally arrives about 3 seconds after the order. Shopify’s own order webhook stays on as a safety net: if anything delays the first path, the confirmation still goes out once — never twice.
Settings (Order Verification page → WhatsApp order confirmation)
- Message delay — send at once, or wait a while first.
- Business hours — hold messages until your shop is open.
- Hold-tags — an order carrying a hold tag is skipped, so you can handle it yourself.
- Wait time and what happens after it — if nobody answers within 30 minutes to 24 hours, either flag the order as high risk (a tag in PULSE and a real risk rating in Shopify, lifted if the customer confirms later) or cancel it automatically.
- Cancel behaviour — a customer’s Cancel tap can only tag the order (default), or really cancel the Shopify order and put the items back in stock.
- Tag names — rename the tags PULSE adds. Starter
- Your own wording — rewrite the last paragraph of the confirmation. We review it first (Meta’s rules), and the standard text is used until it is approved. Growth
- Order notices — WhatsApp messages when an order is created or cancelled, including cancellations you make in Shopify. Starter
After the customer taps
- A confirmed order cannot be cancelled from WhatsApp afterwards, and a cancelled order cannot be confirmed again. The customer is told so, with a button to your store.
- Buttons work in all five languages: English, Arabic, Spanish, French and German.
Order Verification (before checkout)
Before a shopper can check out, PULSE asks them to prove their phone number or email. This keeps typos and fake orders out of your store, so the confirmation message later reaches a real person.
- Email code — a 6-digit code by email. Starter
- WhatsApp code or a confirm button sent on WhatsApp. Growth
- Branding — popup colours, title, and an allow-list of countries. Scale
Turn it on
- Open Order Verification in PULSE, choose the method, and save.
- In your theme editor go to App embeds and switch on Checkout verification. The page shows Ready or Action required and updates by itself as you change the theme.
- Test on your real storefront — the popup is deliberately skipped inside the theme editor.
Codes expire after 10 minutes and allow 5 wrong tries. The popup shows where the code is going and lets the shopper change the number or email. It catches the cart, cart-drawer and “Checkout” buttons, and scripted jumps to checkout where the browser allows it. A shopper who verified is remembered for a short while, so they are not asked twice.
Fast Checkout
A one-screen checkout sheet that opens on your store. The shopper picks their area, types their details, and orders by Cash on Delivery or InstaPay, in their language. It creates a normal Shopify order, and the WhatsApp confirmation follows straight away.
Turn it on
- Open Fast Checkout in PULSE. Choose your options and watch the live preview.
- In the theme editor, switch on the Fast Checkout app embed. Status shows Ready or Action required live.
- Place a test order from your storefront.
What it does
- Prices always come from Shopify — product prices, your shipping zones and rates (synced from Shopify), and totals are recomputed on our server, never trusted from the browser.
- Discounts — codes the shopper types, and your automatic discounts (percentage or fixed), are recognised from your store, and shown in green on the order summary.
- The cart and the sheet stay in step — add or remove an item and the sheet follows; a floating button opens the sheet when the cart has items.
- Saved details — the shopper’s details are remembered on their own device (up to three profiles) and filled in next time.
- Verification inside the sheet — when you use WhatsApp verification, the shopper confirms their number in the sheet, and the order is marked verified.
- Orders are created as normal COD orders (tag
CODplus your Fast Checkout tag) or as InstaPay orders. Online-payment orders in the normal Shopify checkout get no extra tag. - Funnel stats — how many shoppers opened the sheet, started typing, and finished.
InstaPay payments
Turn InstaPay on inside Fast Checkout by entering your InstaPay address and receiver name. The shopper then sees InstaPay as a payment option, sends the transfer in their own InstaPay app, and uploads a screenshot of the transfer before the order is placed.
InstaPay, with the screenshot noted.- Confirm — the order is marked as paid in Shopify and the tag becomes
InstaPay accepted. - Reject — the order stays unpaid and the tag becomes
InstaPay rejected. - Tell the customer — optionally PULSE messages the shopper on WhatsApp with the result (a switch on the Fast Checkout page).
- Marked paid in Shopify instead? — if you mark the order paid in Shopify yourself, PULSE confirms the waiting payment too and tells the customer once.
- Cancelled orders — if the shopper cancels from the WhatsApp confirmation, or you cancel in Shopify, the payment moves to Order cancelled and can no longer be confirmed or rejected, so no wrong message is sent.
Customer WhatsApp menu
When a customer writes to the WhatsApp number your order messages come from, PULSE answers with a small menu: My orders and FAQs. It is the same on PULSE’s number and on your own.
- My orders lists the customer’s own orders, then each order’s details.
- Get invoice sends a PDF invoice for that order.
- FAQs shows the answers you wrote. You can write up to 7 per language on the Auto reply page.
On PULSE’s shared number a customer sees the orders linked to their own phone number from every store that uses PULSE (with a store picker for FAQs, only for stores they ordered from). With your own number (Scale) they see only your store. Nobody can look up a number that is not theirs. Free on every plan.
Reviews & follow-up
After an order PULSE sends a short follow-up asking for a 1–5 star rating. Customers who give 4 or 5 stars get product photo cards and a discount from you. A review comment can be published on your store. Growth
- Review Center — see ratings and comments, and choose what is published.
- Reviews block — add the PULSE Reviews block to your theme once (a button opens the theme editor with the block ready). It updates itself afterwards.
- The block shows Ready or Action required live, like the other theme embeds.
Shipping updates & pre-orders
Shipping updates Growth
WhatsApp updates as an order ships, moves in transit and is delivered. They follow Shopify’s own fulfilment status, so they work with any courier you already record there.
Pre-order waitlist Scale
Items that are out of stock join a first-come-first-served waitlist. The customer is told, can stay on the list or cancel, and is offered the item the moment it is back in stock. The Pre-orders page shows the whole journey of each request: sent, on the waiting list, confirmed, cancelled or expired.
Blocked contacts
Add numbers that keep placing and refusing orders. PULSE sends them no messages, and Fast Checkout will not accept an order from them. You can search the list and unblock a number at any time. Free on every plan.
Dashboard, Logs & emails
- Dashboard — orders tracked, confirmation rate, average time to confirm, failed messages, orders needing attention, InstaPay payments waiting, Fast Checkout funnel. Change the date range at the top.
- Logs — every message PULSE sent, in tabs (verification codes, order notifications, follow-ups), with its delivery status and a CSV export.
- Email digest — a summary to your store email at the interval you choose. PULSE also emails you when you near or reach your message limit, and when your trial is ending.
- Orders — every order with its status (including High risk), a full message timeline, and a CSV export.

Help
| If… | Then |
|---|---|
| A customer did not get the WhatsApp message | Open the order in PULSE and read its timeline. Check the order has a phone number, the number is not in Blocked contacts, and you have not reached your plan’s message limit. |
| The verification popup does not appear | Switch on the “Checkout verification” app embed in the theme editor and test on the live storefront, not inside the editor. |
| Fast Checkout does not open | Switch on the Fast Checkout app embed. If you passed the plan’s monthly order limit, the normal checkout is used until the next period. |
| An InstaPay payment disappeared from “To check” | Its order was cancelled. Look under the Order cancelled tab. |
| My wording for the confirmation is not used yet | It is reviewed first; until it is approved, the standard text is sent. |
